Buses and trucks have separate pricing by size and weight. Dangerous goods transport fees are doubled.

How do I buy a vignette?

3. Pick a validity period
4. Pay online with Credit/Debit Card, Apple Pay, or Google Pay
5. Get your electronic confirmation by email

That confirmation is your legal proof of payment. Keep it for the duration of your stay.

When does the validity start?

Future date: If you select a future start date, it becomes valid at 00:00 (midnight) on that day.

Today: If you purchase for today, it becomes valid the moment you receive the payment confirmation.

Expiration: It always expires at 24:00 (midnight) on the final day.

What happens if I drive without a vignette?

Fines for driving without a valid vignette:

• Under 7 days without one: 2,250–3,000 MDL
• Over 7 days without one: 3,000–3,900 MDL
• Repeat violations: steeper penalties

Paying the fine doesn't replace the vignette. You still need to buy one covering your full stay. Border police won't let you leave until that's sorted.

What do I need to purchase?

You don't need the VIN code, registration certificate, or any other documents. Just your license plate number is enough.

Where do I find my registration number?

Accepted Answer

Your vehicle registration number is the number on your license plates. That's the only identifier needed to buy the Moldova vignette.

Examples of accepted formats:
• Romania: B 123 ABC
• Ukraine: AA 1234 BB
• Bulgaria: CB 1234 AB

Don't confuse it with the VIN code (Vehicle Identification Number). The VIN is a 17-character number stamped on the vehicle body and is NOT required for the vignette.

What is e-Vinieta MD?

e-Vinieta is Moldova's national electronic system for managing road vignettes. When you buy a vignette through vinieta.md, it's automatically registered in the e-Vinieta system and verified electronically at border crossings.

No need to print or stick anything on your windshield. Everything is digital and linked to your vehicle registration number.

For cars: The first 180 days costs roughly €85. Stay longer (consecutive or not), and each additional 180-day block costs €180.

For buses (M2, M3) and trucks (N1, N2, N3): You only need a valid vignette when you're actually driving on public roads.

For cars (M1): You need a valid vignette the entire time the vehicle is in Moldova, even if it's parked.
